"Art should not be seen as objects, art is a trigger for personal experience"

Artist Statement

My journey back to painting has been limited and not a priority until my son reached his teenage years.  At that time I realized something was missing and that it was time to rediscover my passion for painting.  I was first inspired by a well-known Canadian Artist, Gordon Harrison when I attended his art retreat in August of 2013.  This was a turning point for me and set me off on a inspirational path of painting.

Painting feels right and I get lost in my work.  The subjects that capture my interest is Canadian landscapes.  My ultimate goal is to capture "Snap Shots" of moments that truly moves.  These moments in time are captured in photos by myself and friends taken over the years.  In our busy lives it is so easy to miss beautiful scenes, when we just have to open our eyes and hearts to see.

This journey to date has had its successes and failures.  I made a conscious choice to listen to my supporters and block out the critic's.  Painting daily allows me to step out of my comfort zone as often as possible.  I believe it is important to challenge one's self which permits for personal growth.

I invite you, the viewer to take this journey with me of self-discovery of a road less traveled.  To see my courage of redefining my life by finally pursuing my childhood dream of becoming an artist.....one brush stroke at a time.

This is a very exciting time.  It is a time of a priority shift and of change.  I am looking forward to sharing my story and inviting you to view art through my eyes.
